A more "reasoned" consumption for Christmas; is this possible?

Christmas is a time that young and old alike are waiting for: its atmosphere, its decorations and illuminations, the tree, gifts... it is also a time when overabundance and the solicitation of objects encourage us to consume more and sometimes in an unreasonable way. And this represents a cost for our wallet but also for our planet!

We offer you some solutions that will allow you to consume better (and less) and respect our planet a little more while making Christmas an unforgettable moment...

Christmas is the Advent calendar, starting December 1st, so let's talk about it!

The best known of all is the Advent calendar with chocolates, marketed in several forms, it often contains far too much sugar and plastic. Here are some ideas for making your own Advent calendar!

  • Choose a reverse advent calendar : instead of receiving, teach your children to give. Whether it is food, toys or objects that you no longer use, they will make disadvantaged people happy.
  • Do it yourself! Collect or make packaging that you will use every year and put your own candy on it.
  • Make an immaterial Advent calendar! Every day, an activity or a pledge is to be done to count down the arrival of Christmas Day.

Christmas is the Christmas tree, which is bought every year and thrown away a few weeks later. Is it environmentally friendly? Here are our solutions to solve this problem!

  • Did you know that it is possible to rent, return or replant your tree? At treezmas.com, Louise, Martin or Auguste are just waiting to spend a stay with you. Adopt a tree to give it a second life, so that it can be recycled.
  • The homemade tree: the most ecological and original solution! Little waste, easy to store, and reusable at will! For example, you could  simply hang leaves on the wall, make a tree with books, or even with Kappla!

Christmas is also about decorations on the tree or elsewhere. Did you know that it is possible to make these decorative elements yourself?

  • Why not make your own garlands? With pine cones or dried oranges for example. And for Christmas ornaments, to keep them authentic, decorate them as you wish. All you have to do is take a walk in the forest!
  • For table presentations: no need to illuminate with confettiour table, candles or pine branches will set the mood just as much. You can also reuse empty jars and decorate them.

Christmas is also about visiting France to meet their family, friends or relatives and sometimes go on holiday. Familib.com will allow you to rent a stroller, car seat or cot on site. Renting equipment for children and babies will prevent you from buying a product.

Another way to consume better!
